Abstract
The paper focuses on the role of marital status in making women's career paths in the Indian IT sector. It shows us the even more intricate social aspirations, an organization's internal biases, and the compromise between work and private life. The research uses a mixed-method approach combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews to obtain an all-dimensional understanding of a case. The study shows that many married women in tech experience problems in career promotions, number of opportunities at their workplace, and lack of pay parity compared to their male or non-married female colleagues. The research paper analyzes the aspects of the "motherhood penalty," the lack of family support, the difficulties that married women face, explicitly changing work schedules, organizational biases, and not having access to sponsorship or mentorship programs. It also highlights the consequences of these risky factors on women's career decisions, professional growth, and ambitious leadership. The extended research concludes with the formulation of the best strategies that should be applied to solve the problem. Such measures include considering work-life balance options, combating outdated men-on-top mentality, increasing mentorship and sponsorship occasions, having equal pay and opportunities, and developing a diversity and inclusiveness culture. Therefore, deploying these strategies is fundamental to fostering a more equal and encouraging setting for married women to prosper and multiply the growth of the IT industry in India. Finally, we have concluded our research paper by suggesting some strategies that can be adopted by companies in the IT Sector, in order to fully utilize this concept in the most advantageous way possible.
