Dr C Rangarajan is Former Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister under India’s fourteenth Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and Chairman of the Twelfth Finance Commission. As Governor of the Reserve Bank of India during 1992-97, when India embarked on wide-ranging economic reforms which fundamentally altered the structure of the Indian economy, he was actively involved in the design and implementation of the restructuring agenda.
