Abstract

In today's fast-paced and competitive work environment, organizations are increasingly recognizing the significance of employee well-being and its impact on performance. This research explores the importance of psychological well-being in driving employee performance and organizational productivity. With a focus on employee well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic, the study investigates factors such as work-family conflict and mental well-being, particularly among employees in India who were compelled to work from home due to lockdowns. The thesis delves into the relationship between well-being and job performance, highlighting various influencing factors. Through an extensive literature review, it becomes evident that employee well-being plays a critical role in predicting job performance. Factors like job insecurity, work-life balance, organizational culture, stress, and leadership significantly contribute to overall well-being. The findings emphasize the need for organizations to prioritize employee well-being by providing necessary resources and support to address the identified factors. By doing so, a positive work environment can be cultivated, fostering employee engagement, productivity, and retention. This, in turn, leads to greater long-term success and sustainability for the organization. Overall, this research sheds light on the critical role of psychological well-being in driving employee performance and the importance of addressing factors affecting well-being. By understanding and addressing these aspects, organizations can create a supportive work environment conducive to employee success and organizational growth.
