Background: The constantly changing sociocultural dimensions significantly affect this demographic group's mental health in terms of their subjective well-being, posing a unique set of issues. Aim: This study aimed to assess and compare the relationship of perceived attachment style with emotional expressivity and subjective well-being in both genders. Design: It was a cross-sectional and comparative study conducted through an online survey with a sample of 30 males and 30 females between 18-25 years old. The assessments used included the Measurement of Attachment Style (MAOS), BBC Subjective Well-being Scale (SWBS), and Emotional Expressivity Scale (EES). Findings: The results indicated no gender differences among the participants on the measures. Secure attachment style had a significant positive correlation with subjective well-being and emotional expressivity. Additionally, avoidant attachment style had a significantly negative correlation with emotional expressivity. Conclusion: Secure attachment style facilitates subjective well-being and emotional expressivity, whereas avoidant attachment style contributes to a reduction in emotional expressivity.
