Abstract
This Capstone Project provides a comprehensive marketing and financial feasibility analysis for Janki Metal Strips' expansion into the production of high-grade stainless steel. With a focus on addressing declining profit margins due to increased competition and rising raw material costs, the project explores the strategic shift towards specialized grades such as 304, 316, 410, 2205, and 904L. The research evaluates the company’s current position, market dynamics, and investment requirements to introduce an in-house rolling mil and advanced production capabilities, including a 12-ton induction furnace and AOD refining machinery. Financial projections, including capital expenditure estimates and profitability assessments, indicate that diversifying into premium products can significantly enhance profitability and reduce market dependence on low-margin grades. The expansion plan also considers external market opportunities, such as export potential in high-demand sectors like marine, petrochemical, and pharmaceuticals. This study concludes that, through strategic investments and technological advancements, Janki Metal Strips can position itself as a key player in the high-value stainless steel market, both domestica ly and globa ly.
