The financial sector in India has witnessed profound changes during the past ten years as a result of technological advancement, higher embracing of the internet, and ever-changing desires of the customers. The India personal finance app market is one of the fastest growing markets and is estimated to have a CAGR of above 20% between 2021 and 2026. Home to over 750 million internet users, India ranks as the second largest digital economy in the world and has made it a prerequisite for its consumers with a great technology inclination to incorporate all financial offerings into a digital platform. There is a need for apps such as Zerodha, Paytm Money and Groww that aid in the planning, growing and managing of expenses as they synchronously fill the gap of serving as investment tools, and at the same time, aid in expense management. Users can now trade stocks, mutual funds, and fixed-income securities with ease. There has been considerable work done by the Indian government through programs such as Digital India and Unified Payments Interface to promote a digital economy that fosters growth in the fintech area. Regardless of these developments, the market is still in its early stages. Approximately 190 million adults in India are without a basic bank account and a considerable section of the population has no access to properly structured financial instruments. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also pointed out the need for financial education and greater inclusion, implying that there is room for personal finance apps to assist in empowering the underprivileged economically. Personal finance applications have recently gained popularity as money management tools amidst the convolutions of modern financial systems. They include features like expenditure automation tracking, goal-oriented deposits, investment consulting and alerts for bill payments. These functionalities assist users in making wise decisions, saving time and easing financial burdens.
