Abstract

Drones and unmanned vehicles have played an integral role in revolutionizing how we respond to crises and mitigate their impact. These innovative solutions have provided substantial help in delivering aid and supplies to the regions with less infrastructure and remote locations. This report is based on a project for building a prototype of autonomous glider using IoT for disaster management. These drones and unmanned vehicles can help in various domains such as delivering rescue packages, providing real-time aerial imagery and data, rescue operations, surveillance, and damage management. The main idea of building this prototype is to exceed the constraints of range and availability. In this report, a glider is developed using a flight controller, Raspberry Pi, and other electronic components like GPS and Motors to make an autonomous control system for the drone. This project also presents a methodology to design and manufacture a glider using design and simulation software such as SolidWorks, Ansys, and XFLR5. The manufacturing of the glider using modern composite glass fibers and 3d printing processes presenting vital role of materials in building gliders with minimum weight and maximum strength
