Abstract

NGC's notes on his meeting with His Highness of Indore on 04-Sep-1914 at 6pm. These notes are dated 09-Sep-1914, 6pm. The notes reveal the close relationship between NGC and His Highness Maharaja of Indore. He writes about his conversation with the Maharaja, during which they talk discussed the Maharani’s authority to exercise his royal powers in HH's absence owing to his illness. HH told NGC that he had done wrongly in not seeking NGC's advice before making this decision, and NGC appreciated the kindness. He also mentions how the conversation kept switching between English and Marathi with the Marathi statements quoted in his notes too. There was also a discussion regarding some of the donations that HH wanted to make to the Imperial Indian Relief Fund, Prince of Wales Fund etc.
