Abstract
Description
Field Experiences in Heritage Management offered students an opportunity to delve into the lives of indigenous communities to interact, understand, and bring forth their cultural connotations. It allowed them to explore and showcase the diverse ethnic groups that exist in India through their research, taking the meaning of heritage beyond monuments and associating it with people.
In this talk, our graduates Bharvi Chedda and Yashi Ranjan are in conversation with Professor Neel Kamal Chapagain, Director, Centre for Heritage Management, Ahmedabad University, discussing their thesis on natural heritage, that is, indigenous communities in India.
Their thesis topics:
- Bharvi Chedda: Relevance of Intercommunal Relations in a Village Craft Economy
- Yashi Ranjan: Roles and Relevance of Customary Practices in Preserving Biodiversity: A Case of Ho Adivasis in Jharkhand
