This exploratory study identifies the different risk and protective factors contributing to resilience in emerging LGBTQ+ adults in India. The study investigates this using a qualitative method design, including semi-structured interviews to gain rich insight into the different factors. Ten participants from Ahmedabad University were interviewed
dc.description.abstractthe mean age was 20.5. As a result, this study found seven themes: Familial relationship and mental health, chosen family, the role of media, divine tapestry and identity formation, individual traits, margins within the margins and spaces: cities, home and education institute. The study adds to the limited literature on the resilience of queer individuals in India. It gives insight into some of the resilience factors found in the West in a culturally diverse setting and the unique factors that emerge due to cultural differences.
