The writer writes from Walkes Hospital, Simla and has penned down his distress and state of mind to NGC. He mentions the pain that he has been in on account of his health as well as the step he took in withdrawing from the clerical duties in the Church of England on account of difficulties in subscribing to certain non fundamental points of the doctrine. He writes sympathising with all that NGC has been through and expresses his respect for the NGC's thoughts on Hinduism and the liberal Hindu faith that he recently understood.
