Abstract

The use of pentaerythritol tetrakis(2-mercaptoacetate) additive in MeNH3PbI3 thin films improved their photostability under solar irradiation with an intensity of 70–80 mW cm–2 at a temperature of 50–60 °C in an inert atmosphere (ISOS-I protocol) for up to 1400 h. This additive presumably chemically passivates the perovskite layer by chelating Pb2+ ions with C=O groups, which improves the intrinsic photostability. © 2026 Mendeleev Communications.
